I'm the neice of Lt Francis J. Smith, 43rd BG, 65 BS. I believe he was the co-pilot to Lt James J. Franklin on May 18, 1945. Any information on Uncle Buddy would be greatly appriciated. God's blessings to all of you!

Looking for crew members who flew the "Michigan" or a color photo of the nose art that was done by Sarkis Bartigian. I live a mile from Michigan stadium and each year the Yankee Air Museum presents an award called the "Liberator Award" to a student in the AFROTC program at UM. Would enjoy corresponding with anyone who's interested in the "Michigan's" history.

Great site. One comment. In the article Penetrating the Philippines Capt. Alvin Mueller is incorrectly identified as having been a member of the 7th Bomb Group. He was actually with the 19th BG in the PI and was awarded the DSC for a mission in December, 1941.

My name is Pete Minix, and my hobby for the last 12 years, has been collecting and compiling World War II veteran histories. I currently have over 330 World War II veterans, from all branches, in my private library. None of this information is given out or published for a monetary gain.

This is at no cost to you or your family. All I would need are any documents (copies), that you would wish to share or pictures of you during that time. Also, I would also like a current picture of you today. I can send you a large self-addressed envelope for mailing purposes. If you have a scanner attached to your home computer, you could scan your pictures and/or documents to send to me.

If you wish to share this information with me, I would greatly appreciate it. I look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to email. If you chose not to share your story with me, I completely understand and will respect your wishes. My E-mail is pdmmm@msn.com

I've been searching for information on the invasion of Aitape, Papua, New Guinea. My granfather was part of that invasion. He was a seabee with the 25th special construction battalion.

I have his photo album from WWII with many unique combat photos
