What a great website. Thanks to everyone for keeping the memories alive of the great men who flew these machines. I saw a picture of my Dad, Joe Brown.

You have a photo of my granddads crew T/Stg. Bill W Proudfoot. I really don't have photos but I do have a copy of orders with the names of 5 other 24j crews on It 9 July 1944. I would be willing to share with you!

My grandfather Sgt George E Merz died in 1971 before I was born. All I have of his service record are two small clips from our local newspaper, undated. One stated that he was a member of the 43rd bomber group and had served in New Guinea, Australia and the Philippine Islands, The other indicates that he received the air medal for meritorious achievement in aerial combat against the Japanese. This is about all I know about him, anyone that may remember anything or be able to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for anyone who knew N. Sabetta, he was a mechanic / crew chief with the 43rd. I am looking if anyone knows what plane he might have crewed.
