What is this site's URL ("web address") so I can tell a friend about it?
The URL for this site is: http://www.kensmen.com
How do I best navigate and see this site?
If you use the jukebox, navigate this site using the site's own links instead of your browser's buttons. The music plays in a hidden frame, so if you play a tune and click your browser's Back Button, the music may stop.

This site is best viewed if your monitor is set to an 800X600 Resolution. If you're unclear as to what this means, here's an explanation.
I have pictures for this site.  Can you use them? Where do I send them and what should I know?
If you have a clear picture that relates to the 43rd Bomb Group, I'd love to see it. I will do my best to use it, but many variables go into whether or not this is feasible (file size while clarity is maintained, webspace, etc...). Send your pictures in .gif, .jpg, .bmp, or .tiff format to: laminturnesa@aol.com If you can, make the picture file less than 1MB. I can play with file sizes, color depths and all that sorta geek stuff on my end to try to make it work. I've learned that maps are tricky because of the tiny details that, without which, makes them look nasty--details that are often eradicated during the process of making them the right size for the web.

Let it be known in advance that any time someone out there goes to all the trouble of sending me their pictures, it's deeply appreciated (even if, for some reason, I can't use them on the site). And I thank you!

I sent you a picture/article a long time ago and it isn't up yet. What's going on?
I'm trying! [Note from February 2003: For the past -- well, since around the time the World Trade Center Towers were destroyed, I've been plagued with a serious run of "bad luck" (which I prefer to think of as trials and tribulations to be offered up!). Everything from personal bad health to, worse, the bad health of my parents (please pray for them!) to money problems to computer problems (bad enough to disallow my being able to even get online) had put me out of commission. Thanks to the 43rd BG Association, that last issue has been cleared up! Thank you, men! Anyone who has sent mail to the old kens43rd@aol.com address during that time would not have gotten a response. I apologize!]
Where do I find information about my Dad's/Grandpa's/husband's Army-Air Force military service?
If your Vet was a Kensman:
If you're not seeking records, but are seeking contact with an old crewmate or someone who may have known your Kensman, go to our "Looking for a Lost Crewmate?" page (off the main page) and post a message at our Message Board. Check also the list of e-mail addresses for some of our Kensmen here: Kensmen E-Mail Addresses. If you're seeking records, go here: Finding Gramps.

If you don't know what unit your Vet fought with, go here: Finding Gramps

Your history/list of duty stations/etc., isn't finished. Are you going to complete it? When?
I definitely want to finish the history of the 5th USAAF, list of duty stations and CO's, etc., and will do so ASAP. I am getting conflicting info on the latter two topics (or it comes in tiny bits and pieces) so I'm kinda paralyzed with that whole area right now until I can get the time to cipher through all the input and figure out what's HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. Achieving that sort of accuracy is paramount.
I am having trouble using your jukebox. What can I do?
First, make sure you have speakers, that they're plugged in and that your volume is turned up. If that's not the problem, it may be that you don't have a program on your computer that allows you to play 'midi files' (the file type of file that makes up the music you hear on the jukebox). You can download such a program, "Crescendo", here: http://www.liveupdate.com/midi.html
