Peter Compton writes: "My Dad - 2nd Lt. (at the time) Irwin R. "Comp" Compton - had just arrived from B-24 training stateside and copiloted this plane from December '43 until April '44. A note on the back of the photograph says it was taken February '44. I have no tail number for this airplane. There is a project number just aft of the nose-art eyeball, but it is not clear - it might be: PROJECT NO. 96127 something something.
In the crew photo in front of Geraldine, Dad is the fellow third from the left in front with the turned-up bill on his fatigue hat. I have no information about the other members of the crew."
